Delivering a Cost-Effective Solution for High-Capacity Communications
In 2023, Liftmaster Products was commissioned to manufacture a 90-metre galvanised guyed communication tower for a telecommunications project in Ermelo, South Africa.
The client required a tower capable of reaching 90 metres in height while supporting a specified communications equipment load. With the installation site located in an open area, a guyed tower provided the ideal solution, delivering the required height and structural performance while remaining a cost-effective solution where sufficient space was available for the anchor system.
The tower was manufactured in 36 precision-engineered sections, each measuring 2.5 metres, allowing for efficient transport and efficient assembly on site.
To meet the project's structural requirements, the hold-down bolts were chemically anchored, providing a secure foundation and long-term stability for the structure.
Following manufacture, every component was hot-dip galvanised to provide exceptional corrosion protection, ensuring the tower is built to withstand demanding environmental conditions for years to come.
Custom Security Steelwork
As part of the project, Liftmaster Products also designed and manufactured a custom-built galvanised equipment safe for installation at the base of the tower.
Manufactured in-house, the enclosure was engineered to securely house critical communications components while protecting them from theft, tampering, and harsh environmental conditions. Built from heavy-duty steel, the safe forms an integral part of the site's infrastructure, helping safeguard valuable equipment and improve long-term reliability.
